Truth is we all have sinned. Even the best princesses owe God far more than they can possibly pay back. Jesus, the compassionate King, gives His mercy. He wipes debt out with His own blood. Completely! Doesn’t it stand to reason that you should be quick to forgive? Seven times a day? Hardly! Seventy times seven was Jesus’s way of saying that you can’t count how many times to forgive. Just forgive, as often as you have to — no matter who has hurt you, no matter how badly, even if the person you must forgive is YOU.
Your King, Jesus, has forgiven all. We must do the same. He’ll help you with it. Remember, He’s the one who’ll never leave you. The power to forgive will come from Him. Borrow His compassion, and spend it all!
In order to be strong, we don’t hold on to any grudges or hang on to anger. If your sister wrongs you, either let it go, or talk it through–but don’t hold it against anybody. Forgive as you have been forgiven.
Here’s a Bible Verse that best fits this topic: “As God’s chosen people, Holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” -Colossians 3:12-14
